Today, October 31, 2023, the Rector of the University of Echahid Hamma Lakhdar, Professor Omar Ferhati, met with a delegation of Uzbek students who are learning the Arabic language in the Arabic Language Department of the Faculty of Literature  and Languages.

This meeting was held within the framework of the University Rector’s periodic meetings with international students. The meeting took place in the presence of the Director of University Services, Professor Djamal Koraicha, the Vice Rector in charge of External Relations and Cooperation, the Dean of the College, Professor Dalal Ouachan, her Deputy for Studies, Dr. Nasser Dahda, the Head of the Department, Dr. Abdal aziz Mesbahi, and his two deputies for Scientific Research and Studies, respectively, Professor Al-Saddik  Maoush and Dr. Bin Omar Abdarahmane, and the heads of the Language Department. English and French, the Secretary-General of the College, Dr. Khalifa Abdel malik, and members of the Pedagogical Committee charged with supervising and teaching the Arabic language to Uzbek students.

The university Rector expressed his gratitude and pleasure at meeting  Uzbek students with their supervising professor, Igul Omar, from the Arabic Language Department at the World Languages University in Uzbekistan. Professor Omar Farhati added that the guests of our university came from the land of knowledge and scholars such as Al-Khwarizmi, Ibn Sina, Al-Biruni, Al-Bukhari, Al-Tirmidhi and others, noting that the pedagogical committee noticed a great passion in them for learning the Arabic language.

The university’s Vice Rector in charge of  external relations, Professor Guedda Elhabib , also called for the development of a project to teach the Arabic language to non-native speakers in a way that makes the University of El Oued a center of excellence at the national level in attracting foreign students to learn the Arabic language, pointing to the desire of students from Italy and Spain to learn the Arabic language at our University

For her part, the Dean of the College, welcomed the guests and gave a comprehensive picture of the educational program for Uzbek students, noting that it is a program that included several Arab experiences for teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers. The Deputy Dean for Studies, Dr. Nasser Dahda, also gave a speech on the occasion in which he focused on the importance of learning the Arabic language as a second language for Uzbek students, assuring them that they will enjoy the Arabic language as a new spirit added to them. As for the head of the Arabic Language Department, Dr. Abdalaziz Mesbahi, he presented the educational program, which, as he said, revolve around reading, phonology, grammar, morphology, rhetoric, Arabic literature, techniques of oral and written expression, calligraphy, prosody, and the sciences of the Koran  and Hadith.

The university Rector exchanged conversations with the Uzbek students and the professor supervising them, where some of the students expressed in fluent Arabic their sincere thanks to the university Rector and  the Dean of the faculty
