Meeting of the Board of Directors of El Oued University
Today, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the Board of Directors meeting for Echahid Hamma Lakhdar University took place in the conference hall of the central administration. The meeting was presided over by Mr. President of the Board of Directors, representing the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Helilat Mohamed Tahar, the Rector of the University of Ouargla, and in the presence of the University Rector, Professor Omar Ferhati, his deputies, members of the Board of Directors, deans of the faculties, and executive directors in the Wilaya , as well as representatives of professors, students, and workers.
The agenda of the meeting included the following:
- Presentation of the scientific and pedagogical activities for the first semester of 2023/2024.
- Approval of the establishment of the Consultation, Research, and Development Office interface.
- Other .
The President of the Board, Professor Helilat Mohamed Tahar, opened the session by welcoming the board members and presenting the meeting agenda. He then gave the floor to the University Rector, Professor Omar Ferhati, who expressed his gratitude to the President of the Board and the members. The Deputy Director of the University for Pedagogy, Professor Bachir Menaai, presented a comprehensive overview of all the university’s pedagogical statistics for the 2023/2024 academic season, highlighting student enrollment, the promotion of English language use, the evaluation of the first semester for English-speaking professors, and distance learning.
The Vice Rector of the University in charge of Scientific Research, Professor Rahouma Ferhat, provided an overview of training in the third phase and postgraduate research, including research laboratories and business incubators, PRFU research projects, and scientific production for doctoral students and their training projects.
The Vice Rector of the University in charge of External Relations, Dr. Mohamed Fouad Ferhat, presented the activities of the External Relations Department, including internships, national and international meetings, newly signed agreements, and scientific visits aimed at improving the university’s visibility and encouraging exchanges and openness to social and economic surroundings. He highlighted the Russian corner and the launch of learning the Russian language. He also presented important projects of the subsidiary institutions of El Oued University, emphasizing the significance of these subsidiary institutions and the new interface “Consultation, Research, and Development Office,” as well as other established interfaces at the university level and subsidiary institutions that are under construction.
The Vice Rector of the University in charge of Development and Supervision, Professor Amar Zaabi, then provided statistical information on the development of El Oued University, various student and teacher enrollment rates, open specialties, and the university’s equipment and completed or ongoing processes and achievements.
Finally, the President of the Board turned the floor over to the board members and opened the floor for dialogue. In conclusion, approval was granted for the establishment of the Consultation, Research, and Development Office interface. The President of the Board , representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Helilat Mohamed Tahar, thanked the University Rector, and the university community, including professors, students, workers, and employees, for all the achievements accomplished.
