The launch of the second national forum “The Role of Civil Society in Preserving Algerian National Security” at El Oued University

Within the framework of the celebration of the National Martyr’s Day,February 18, today, March 06, 2023, the University of Echahid Hamma Lakhdar in El Oued organized the second national forum on “The Role of Civil Society in Preserving Algerian National Security” in partnership with the Tijaniya-Temacine and in coordination with the National Economic,Social and Environmental Council and the National Observatory for Civil Society The Supreme Council for Youth, the National Giving Association,
the Algerian Association for the Preservation of Historical Heritage and National Memory, and the Tassili News newspaper.
This scientific event took place in the presence of the Wali of El Oued Mr. Saïd Akhrouf, the Rector of the University, Professor Omar Farhati, Chikh Professor Mohammed Laid Tidjani, Chikh of the Tijani
Order(tariqua), the President of the Economic and Social Council, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Islamic Council, Professor Boumedienne Bouzid, and the Vice-President of the Supreme Council for
Youth, the Common Security Committee, the head of El Oued department , the Chouyoukh of the Zaouias and the media .
The Rector of the University, Prof. Omar Farhati, as the honorary president of the forum, gave a welcoming speech to the honorable attendees and expressed his happiness for the university's hosting of this important event in coordination with the main actor, the Tijaniya corner of Temacine, as he referred to the development of security levels that exceeded military security to reach other types of security such as the preservation of social, environmental, health and food security. He also referred to the role of active institutions which are military institutions, Quranic schools and corners, who are raising the challenge and preparing to face all challenges with one hand. Finally he announced
the opening of the forum.
For his part, Prof. Mohammad Laid-Tidjani, Chikh of Zawiya -Tijaniya in Timacine, as the Chairman of the Forum, welcomed the honorable attendance and thanked the Rector of the University for his presence on this distinguished day in which ideas are exchanged and scientific perceptions are promoted. He indicated that the Temacinian corner is working with the university in order to activate civil society and contribute to the protection of the homeland and its national security.
The President of the Forum, Prof. Abdelmalek Attia, welcomed the attendance , and explained goals that the forum want to reach .he referred that it is studding social and economic interaction, focusing on the various important and active roles of civil society in achieve security now and in the future. He concluded his speech by thanking the Rector of the University for his support for this forum and praising Professor Muhammad Laid Tidjani and all those who contributed to the success of this scientific event and all the participants from various universities.
after that Dr. Mohammed Bouchnak Khalladi, expressed the great importance of the forum, he is expecting that the event will end with many recommendations that serve all the participants.
It is to be mentioned that the opening intervention was made by Dr.
Amina Tidjani, entitled “The role of the Chikhs of the Tijani corner in Temacine in preserving Algerian national security.”
At the end of the first period, on this scientific occasion, the Wali of the El Oued, the University Rector, the Chikh of the Tijaniyya corner of Temacine and the President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council were honnored.
The activities of the forum focus on several themes:
1- A conceptual introduction to civil society, national security and its dimensions.

2- The role of civil society in preserving moderation and reference for Algerian society.
3- The role of civil society in preserving the national memory
4- The role of civil society in preserving the cohesion of Algerian society.
5- Prospects of the civil society development and its role in building the Algerian state.
The forum aims to Highlighting the importance and necessity of organizing available human resources in the service of Algerian society. And preserving the Maliki reference to Algerian society because it is an authenticity linked to its Maghreb identity.
The forum also aims to demonstrate the role and importance of civil society in preserving the national memory and the cohesion of Algerian society.
The work of the National Forum was concluded at the Cultural Center of the Tijaniya Zawiya in Guemar, in the presence of the Honorary President of the Forum, Cheikh MOhammed Laid Tijani Al-Tamassini.
