The launch of the second international forum on innovative methods in teaching languages for special purposes in the university “at EL Oued University
Today, February 21, 2023, at the University of Echahid Hamma Lakhdar of El Oued, the Second International Forum on “Innovative Methods in Teaching Languages for Special Purposes in the University” was launched.
This scientific event is organized over two days by the Department of English at the Faculty of literature and Languages under the supervision of the Rector of the University, Professor Omar Farhati. Were present the Vice Rectors of the University , the General Secretary , Deans of Faculties , Professors from inside and outside the country and students.
The Rector of the University, Prof. Omar Farhati, as the honorary president of the forum, gave a welcome speech to the honorable attendees, and a special welcome to Professor Nedjai Mohamed Al-Saleh, former Rector of the University of Batna, who made an effective contribution to the Algerian University and in accompanying and training a generation of professors. The Rector also indicated the importance of this distinguished forum in the presence of a group of Professors from inside and outside the country, and the participation of Mr.Noam Chomsky, the linguistics, who is for the first time with Algerian university, he also appreciated the efforts of the Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Languages, Dr. Ouchen Dalal .
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Oucheen Dalal, welcomed the attendees, and also indicated the great importance of the international forum marked by “presenting innovative methods in teaching languages for special purposes in the university” because learning languages has become a necessity, in particular the English language Which has become compulsory in all universities, as she wished success for this forum.
The Head of the English Language Department, Dr. Sahraoui Belkacem, and Professor Nasr Dahda, the Vice -Dean in charge of Studies who is the Chairman of the Forum, both of them made interventions where they referred to the importance of this International Forum and its objectives.
he main objectives of this international forum are according to the established program

1- The positioning of English for special purposes within the learning and teaching of foreign languages.
2- Investigating the linguistic features of the different types of specialized discourse.
3- Determine the relationship between knowledge of specialized discourse and the teaching and learning of languages for special purposes.
4- Provide innovative approaches to teaching and assessing languages for special purposes.
5- Highlighting the importance of needs analysis and material design in languages for special purposes.
6- Encouraging the introduction of language curricula for special purposes in public educational institutions.
7- Enhancing scientific exchange between language researchers for special purposes.
On the occasion, the Rector of the University was also honored by the Dean of the Faculty prof. Ouchen Dalal, as well as the Vice Rec Rector of the University, Professor Bashir Mannai, by Professor Dahdah Nasr, and the Director of University Services.
