Oran University 2 wins first place in the National Competition for Future Lawyers organized by El Oued University
On these two days, December 19-20, 2022, Elchahid Hamma Lakhdar University in El Oued will witness the competitions of the National University Competition “Future Lawyer”, organized by, the Sub-Directorate of Scientific, Cultural and Sports Activities of the University.
The event of this national competition was inaugurated this morning in the presence of the local authorities, led by the Wali of El Oued, the President of the Wilaya People’s Assembly, the various security and judicial branches, civil society and large number of students .
When announcing the launch of the competition and welcoming the guests, the Rector of the University, Prof. Omar Farhati, explained that the idea of the competition started as a local university from the Faculty of Law and Political Science and the organization of the Sub-Directorate for Activities, then it became a national competition after the approval of the Directorate of Student Life in the Ministry.
The competition aims to highlight talents in the field of judicial pleadings and highlight the importance of justice, the field of freedoms, human rights, the constitution, and the articles of law, which makes the university student live and obtain in advance a close picture of the reality of trials and pleadings through his practice of virtual pleadings with a sensitive and dangerous topic that affects the student community.*
The Rector of the University indicated that 112 students were nominated for the competition from various university institutions across the country. Then the jury selected from the submitted offers six students from six universities who met the required conditions in their offers. The Rector of the University wished success to the competition organizers and competitors. He also thanked the local, civil and judicial authorities, headed by the Wali, for their distinguished presence to participate in this national competition.
The arbitration committee consists of professors Dahab Mohamed Al-Saghir as president and Khalaf Farouk as a member from the University of El-Oued, Mesirdi Abdelhak from the University of Tlemcen, Khadiji Ahmed and Zargoun Noureddine from the University of Ouargla. The virtual trial session also consisted of the presiding judge, two counsellors, the Attorney General and the Registrar, and six lawyers who pleaded against six defendants accused of promoting drugs and psychotics in the university .
After the evaluation process, the head of the jury announced the list of the first three winning students in the “Future Lawyer” competition, noting that the second place was shared by two students from El Oued University and Ghardaia University, and this is the order of the winners in the competition:

2- Chtioui Abderahmane, El Oued University
2- Boumediona Youssef, University of Laghouat
4- Marai Bushra, Al-Taref University
5- Maamari Sheikha, University of Ghardaia
6- Zirahem Amani, University of Relizane
The winners students were honored with prizes and valuable gifts to encourage them to continue their academic career .
