An evaluation meeting at the University of El Oued regarding classification and the university’s visibility
Today, January 15, 2024, the Rector of the University of Echahid Hamma Lakhdar, Professor Omar Farhati, supervised an evaluation meeting on the visibility and classification of the university’s website and the measures taken to upgrade the University of the El Oued in various classifications. The meeting was attended by the Vice Rector of the University in charge of development and forecasting, Professor Ammar Zoubi, the Chairman of the Committee on the Visibility and Upgrading of the University’s Website, and Professor Rahouma Farahat, in charge of scientific research, the deans faculties, the director of the central library, and Professor Zouhair Tair, who in charge of monitoring the site accompanied by Dr. Bachir Ben Seghier, representatives of networks and communication systems, the central site administrator, and members of the visual committee, including professors and specialists. The university Rector opened the meeting, highlighting the importance of the university’s visibility and its promotion in all classifications. Thanking the attendees and committee members for everything they provide to the scientific and research side. To give the floor to the Chairman of the Committee, Professor Ammar Zoabi, who referred to the efforts of the members of the Committee, then Dr. Bachir Ben Seghier gave a current presentation on the standards of Webmetrics, Uni Ramk, and university classification, which is based on several criteria, including visibility and scientific publications in Google Scholar. He pointed out some noticeable technical problems and data disclosure. The digital repository and the various recorded points and notes necessary to upgrade and develop the university’s website. For his part, Professor Tair Zouhair gave a presentation on the international classification of universities (THE )and the scientific standards adopted in that, the impact classification, the data development table, and the visual improvement strategy. Professor Laouid Abdel kader also gave a presentation in which he addressed the university’s classification in ( Qs).
The Rector also discussed with the attendees the points raised and emphasized the necessity to evaluate the level reached by the university’s visibility, calling on those concerned and officials to solve the existing problems in order to improve the university’s visibility and classification in international classifications, which requires a joint scientific and technical effort from everyone.
