Launching of the International Doctoral Forum on the Artificial Intelligence Revolution at the University of El Oued
Today, December 11, 2023, at the University of El Chahid Hamma Lakhdar – El Oued – the International Doctoral Forum on “The Artificial Intelligence Revolution – Challenges and Prospects” was launched under the supervision of the General Directorate of Scientific Research and in coordination and cooperation with the research centers CRTI – CDTA – CRSTRA
The launching was in the presence of the president of the regional symposium of the universities of the East, the directors of the Algerian border universities, the University of Souk Aharas, Tebessa, Annaba and El Tarf, the presidents of the Tunisian border universities, the University of Gabes, Sfax, Gafsa, Jendouba and Kairouan (5+5), the vice-Rectors of the university, the director of the Higher School of Agriculture and its staff, and representatives of the General Directorate of Research. Scientific staff of the Ministry, Mr. Vice President of the Wilaya People’s Assembly, in addition to the Secretary-General of the University, deans of faculties, professors, and the participation of 300 doctoral students from the University of El Oued and several universities from inside and outside the country, as well as 64 professors and students from Tunisian universities
The forum was opened by the Chairman of the Regional Symposium of Eastern Universities, Professor Latrach Mohammed Alhadi, thanking the University Rector, Professor Omar Farhati, for hosting this important scientific event and its guests from inside and outside the country
The Rector of Al Oued University, Professor Omar Farhati, as the Chairman of the Forum, gave a welcoming speech to the attendees from inside and outside the country and all the university family. The Rector also takes this opportunity to convey the greetings and the acknowledgments the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Kamal Badari, to all contributors to this important scientific event
For his part, the Chairman of the Forum’s Organizing Committee, Professor Boubakar Mansour, gave a presentation on the importance of the Forum and thanked all those who contributed to organizing the conference, wishing success for this event
In the opening session two interventions were presented , the first by Dr. Elias Boukrami from Regent’s University in London, which addressed the topic of economic transformations, the digital revolution, and possible risks, challenges, and opportunities for Algeria. The second was by Dr. Wahabi Abdeldalil from the University of Tours in France also presented an intervention that touched on the reality of exploring the limits of artificial intelligence in terms of innovations, applications and considerations
The event’s programs include many scientific activities: training workshops, the “My Thesis in 180 Seconds” competition, the “Programming Competition in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity,” the “Innovation Challenge in the University Community” competition, and an exhibition of economic and scientific institutions in which the attendees, accompanied by the University Rector, had the opportunity to know about our students’ products and innovations
