The University of the El Oued participates in the regional symposium of the universities of the East in Setif
Today, November 6, 2023, the University of Echahid Hamma Lakhdar – El Oued – participated in the regional symposium of the universities of the East in Setif, which included three basic axes : the academic mobility of students, teaching of the English language and university sports. The University Rector, Professor Omar Farhati, headed the delegation of the University of the El Oued, consisting of the director University Services Mr. Djamal Koraicha ,Dr. Dahda Nasr eddine, the head of the Monitoring and Coordination Department of the Directorate of University Services, Mr. Mouloudi Chochani, the sub-director of scientific, cultural and sports activities, Mr. Bachir Zidane, and Mr. Masoudi Abdelmalik, representative of the University League.
Within the activities of the regional symposium for universities, the Rector of the University of El Oued, Professor Omar Farhati presented the demand of the first-year master’s students to the Director General of Education and Training. The latter gave the green light to university administrators to take what they deem appropriate for the benefit of the students, as the University Rector issued an official decision that was published and circulated today requiring the registration of holders of a Bachelor’s Classic degree directly into the second year of the Master’s degree.
This important symposium, which represents a decisive turning point in the present and future of the Algerian university, was marked by the participation of Rectors of university institutions, their Vice Rectors in charge of pedagogy, directors of university services, heads sports leagues , sub-directors of sports, scientific and cultural activities, and heads of monitoring and coordination departments. The head of the regional symposium for the East, Mr. Latrach Mohammed Al-Hadi, the head of the National Committee for Disseminating the Teaching of the English Language, Ms. Kased Asia, and the head of the National Committee for Distance Education, Mr. Ahmed Belhani, also participated in the meeting.
The symposium’s activities dealt with the axis of students’ academic mobility, on which the Director General of Education and Training, Mr. Ali Chukri, gave a detailed presentation.
Then, the axis of generalizing the teaching of the English language and the prospects for the next semester, on which Mr. Ahmed Belhani and Ms. kased Assia gave a presentation. The third axis was university sports, where The Director of Sports, Scientific and Cultural Activities at the Ministry, Mr. Azzedine Rabika, and the President of the Algerian Federation of University Sports, Mr. A. Saadi gave a detailed presentation about it.
Professor Nasr Dahda, in his capacity as a member of the local committee for teaching the English language and a representative of the university’s Vice Rector for Studies, also presented a set of proposals that would help develop the use of the English language in the university
