El-Oued University organizes an international forum on the” Social Theory “of Algerian diplomacy in Africa
Today, November 29, 2022, the Rector of Echahid Hamma Lakhdar University, Professor Omar Farahati, announced the official opening of the international formative forum for PhD students in social sciences, titled “Social Theory – Applied Practices and Prospects”, which lasts for two days, were present professors and researchers from Algeria, Egypt and Tunisia, and university students.
After welcoming the guests of the forum from, the Rector of the University confirmed that this formative scientific event is being held with qualitative knowledge, as it was prepared since last August by the organizers. The Rector of the University considered that organizing an international forum on social theory falls within the framework of reforms in the field of humanities in general, social theories are analytical frameworks or paradigms used to examine social phenomena. The term ‘social theory’ encompasses ideas about ‘how societies change and develop, about methods of explaining social behaviour, about power and social structure, gender and ethnicity, modernity and ‘civilisation’, revolutions and utopias’ (. In contemporary social theory, certain core themes take precedence over others, themes such as the nature of social life, the relationship between self and society, the structure of social institutions, the role and possibility of social transformation, as well as themes such as gender, race and class..
On the occasion, the Rector of the University enumerated a number of recent achievements by El Oued University within a clear strategy based on teamwork.. The Rector r mentioned that the university had reached the registration of 26 academic journals of category (C) and more than 30 patents, with a plan to reach 100 patents by the end of the current year, and it ranked in the first place in the scientific week held at the University of Setif last May, and the business incubator University on the official branding label and other achievements in addition to the 203 start up. On the occasion, the Dean of the faculty, Prof. Gharaysa Ammar, the Director of the Forum, Dr. Ibrahim Dahabi, and the Director of the Laboratory of Social Development and Community Service Organizing the Forum, Dr. Houidi Abdel Basset, delivered welcoming words to the conference guests.
